2019 Handbook details ground changes

History

Following the formation of the Southern League (SL) in 1969, a general inquiry in 1970 initiated by Noel Fisher showed a widespread interest among clubs tired of the surfeit of draws in ‘friendly’ cricket and looking for a competitive edge with rewards, in the form of promotion, for success.

The following clubs have changes of ground and contact information different from the 2019 HCL handbook

Bramshaw CC, Kerala CC, Parley CC, Havant CC, Colden Common & Otterbourne & Sporting Wessex

Kerala CC

The handbook has two grounds listed under Kerala CC, Portsmouth – Rugby Camp and Farlington. The council had allocated both  1st and 2nd teams to Rugby Camp.

Both teams play their home games at Rugby Camp, Norway Road, Portsmouth, PO3 5EP.

Parley CC

An update of the contact for Parley 1st team and ground that Parley 2nd and 3rd teams play on are:

From East take M25;  M3 then M27 and eventually A31 towards Ringwood.     From Ringwood follow the A338 (Wessex Way) signposted to Bournemouth.    After 6.8 miles turn left at exit A3060, as signposted then, at the Cooper Dean roundabout, take 1st exit left onto Castle Lane East (signposted Lyndhurst A35).     Proceed for 0.5 miles and then turn right at main traffic lights intersection;  then take 3rd exit at roundabout into Littledown Centre Car Park.     The Littledown Centre is situated opposite the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

From North and West:    Head for A31/A338 junction (Ashley Heath) just outside Ringwood and then take A338 (Wessex Way) to Bournemouth and then follow directions as above.

Havant CC

The Havant 2nd team play at 2nd XI  Havant Park PO9 1HH

Colden Common & Otterbourne & Sporting Wessex

The handbook detail for the home playing ground for  3rd team of Colden Common & Otterbourne& Sporting Wessex CC is wrong in the handbook.

The University Grounds are located opposite Southampton Airport Parkway Station on Wide Lane. Leave the motorway (M27) at junction 5 and follow signs for the station. The entrance to the ground is on your left just after you have passed the station on your right hand side.
